Warrior Athletics:
Track Season Complete!
Track season is done! We are really proud of all our athletes - their commitment and perseverance through this track season. We know that the season felt a little shorter than previously, but the practices and meets were great opportunities for all of them to push themselves and try something new.
Congrats to our athletes on competing in state Saturday!
Off-Season Basketball
Boys JH and SH Basketball Off-Season is this Tuesday/Thursday 3-5pm.
It's Teacher Appreciation Week! -- May 5–9
Let’s show our amazing teachers just how much we appreciate them! It's Teacher Appreciation Week and it's the perfect time to celebrate the heart of our school—our dedicated educators.
We’re kicking off Teacher Appreciation Week with a special surprise—and we need your help!
Monday, May 5th, please send your child to school with a wildflower or a flower from your garden. We’ll be gathering all the blooms to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind bouquets for our amazing teachers!
No need to purchase anything—just a single flower from nature or your backyard is perfect.
Your child can also bring a thank-you note to let their teacher know how much they’re appreciated.
Let’s make this Monday a blooming celebration of all the wonderful things our teachers do!
Benchmark Exams This Week -- May 6-8
Benchmark testing is just around the corner! K-10th grade students will be testing May 6th through 8th, and we want to help them feel confident and ready to do their best.
Families can help by making sure students get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time each day. A little encouragement and a positive attitude go a long way, too!
Thank you for partnering with us to support our students' success!
Senior Day -- May 7
We’re gearing up for a very special Legacy tradition if celebrating our seniors!
Senior Assembly Monday, May 5 at 2:15 PM: The week kicks off with Seniors leading Assembly. As part of the Senior Assembly, we will also hold our first induction ceremony for our new chapter of the National Honor Society for senior members—this special recognition acknowledges their academic achievement, as well as their leadership, character, and service throughout their time at Legacy. Parents are warmly invited to attend and share in this meaningful moment.
Senior Day, Wednesday at 1:30 PM: We’ll hold our much-anticipated Senior Walk, followed by the always-entertaining Roast & Toast and a reception for our Upper Level students.
Friends, Family, and everyone in the Legacy Academy family is invited to join us for these special events.
Water & Field Day -- May 9th
Get ready—it’s almost time for one of the most exciting days of the year: Water and Field Day on May 9th! Our students can’t wait to dive into a day packed with outdoor games, friendly competition, and refreshing water activities.
To make this day a splash hit, we are seeking volunteers to help with set up that morning, running the games, serving lunch, and cleaning up.! If you’re available to help, please contact Ms. Gilmore at lynette.gilmore@legacymail.org.
Also, we could use some shade! If you have a pop-up canopy we’d love to borrow it for the day. Let us know if you have one we can use!
"What will my student need for water day?"
Glad you asked!
Sunscreen
Please apply before school and send the bottle with your student for all-day use. We will have reminders to reapply throughout the day and teachers to help littles. Please write your student(s) name on the bottle!
Towel
Microfiber towels do not fair well on water day, FYI! Please be sure to write your child's name on the towel.
Water Shoes
No flip-flops. Students will need shoes that can get wet and muddy, but that will stay on their feet for running and game activities. We recommend river shoes or sandals that strap in the back.
Uniform bottoms/pants
Students will receive a Water Day t-shirt to wear. They should wear uniform bottoms with these. Again, we recommend something that can get wet and muddy! Students are not permitted to wear athletics shorts, swim trunks, or other street clothes.
Water Bottle
We will have frequent water breaks and remind students to hydrate throughout the day. This is much easier when students have a water bottle that they can keep close by! Please write your student's name on their water bottle!
Dry set of clothes
Students will be permitted to change into clean, dry clothes before they leave at the end of the day. These do not have to be uniform clothes -- just some dry, appropriate street clothes to go home in!
Summer Schedule Coming Soon!
We are planning to have some summer camps again this year, as we did last summer. We hope to have the schedule for these out to you this week.
The first one you can save the date for is Otter Basketball Camp, June 2-6. Additional details will come out this week!
Athletics Banquet -- May 15th
Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our student-athletes at the annual Athletics Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 15 at 6:00 PM in the Legacy Academy Auditorium.
We can’t wait to honor our athletes’ hard work and dedication at this special event! Each athlete will receive complimentary tickets for their parents. Due to limited seating, any additional guests must purchase a ticket in advance for $12 each. Tickets must be purchased in person at the front office by Monday, May 6. No tickets will be sold at the door.
We kindly ask that all tickets be reserved or purchased by the deadline so we can ensure accurate food counts. We can’t wait to honor our Warriors' hard work and dedication at this special event!
Mid-America Field Trip
Classes 6-9 enjoyed a day of fun-filled and unique learning at Mid-America Science Museum this past week. They were not only challenged mentally but also physically as there were many hands-on exhibits. They learned about landforms, rocks, cave diving, building with bricks, experimented with pulleys and much more! They ended the day with an electrifying show about Nikola Tesla.
Now HIRING Teachers!
We are now hiring additional teachers for Pre-K, Lower Level, and Upper Level Grades for the 2025-26 school year. Is it you? If not, help us find the best fit!
Bus Drivers & Substitutes Needed
We need substitutes who can help fill positions when a teacher is absent. We also need bus drivers to help transport students to athletic events and field trips. Please see the office for details on each of these. Thank you!

Please complete your 25-26 EFA Application
Remember that we will accept EFAs as 100% of your tuition obligation next year if you do not qualify for any other assistance. Actual tuition based on true operation costs would be $10,500 annually. However, LA will accept EFA as tuition paid in full. If you qualify for other assistance to cover the additional amount we will help you with those applications. This means we should be able to ensure that not a single LA family has any out-of-pocket tuition expenses! The number of EFAs is not unlimited and over 30,000 Arkansas students have already applied. DO NOT DELAY ANY LONGER. Please complete your application today. The office can help you if needed. If you end up not using it, that's no problem but don't miss the funds available for your student. Families who received EFA for the 2024-2025 school year must still reapply for next year. Families already receiving EFA will need your student(s) individual Student ID Number to complete the application. You can find this on your ClassWallet account.
