Our Lady Warriors finished their season with a 22-6 record after losing to Liberty Christian in the semi-finals game of the HCAA 1A Girls' State Tournament Friday. Liberty's girls went on to win the state championship Saturday. Despite injuries, a young team stepped up and worked hard all season. Each girl on the team improved tremendously. Senior Oaklee Lofton did a great job serving as the team captain and provided our fans a great senior season!
We will begin Off-season weight room, training, and shooting in March and will get details out soon.

From Mr. Nix
In considering how to build lines of communication with your teens it has to be acknowledged that the business of life and the diversity of commitments and activities can create gaps and breakdowns in lines of communication. Here are a couple of additional suggestions for strengthening and building open lines of communication with your family.
Do things together. Talking isn’t the only way to communicate, and during these years it’s great if you can spend time doing things you both enjoy, whether it’s cooking or hiking or going to the movies, without talking about anything personal. It’s important for kids to know that they can be in proximity to you, and share positive experiences, without having to worry that you will pop intrusive questions or call them out for something.
Share regular meals. Sitting down to eat a meal together as a family is another great way to stay close. Dinner conversations give every member of the family a chance to check in and talk casually about sports or television or politics. Kids who feel comfortable talking to parents about everyday things are likely to be more open when harder things come up, too. One rule: no phones allowed.
As much as possible safeguard some piece of your day for family interactions. Mealtimes seem to be the best opportunity to do this. It doesn't have to be elaborate or deep, it just needs to be consistent and predictable. If you are living stressed and pressed and constantly engaged emotionally with the next problem to solve you may miss an opportunity to be a part of all that may be going on in their hearts. We must develop the ability to flex and be available for our families.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for our families and for the privilege of getting to share this important season of their lives with them. Please give us wisdom, grace and understanding of how to value, connect, guide and direct their lives in a way that will prepare them for the journey ahead. Give us the correct sight of who they are and all that they will become. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Teens are Overwhelmed by Boredom and There’s One Big Reason Why
Boredom is rising, and test scores are falling among today's youth. Johnathan Haidt, author of The Anxious Generation, had this to say about it:
"If half your day is spent using screens that give you continuous rounds of stimulus-response-reward, your brain will adapt and the other half of your day will become more boring."
