54th Annual King Arts & Crafts | November 14

Join Us for the 54th Annual King Arts and Crafts Festival!

We are thrilled to invite all of our families to attend the upcoming 54th Annual King Arts and Crafts Festival! This wonderful community event features a quality art show, craft contests, outside vendors, delicious food, and live music. Mark your calendars and come out to support the arts:

• Friday, November 13th & Saturday, November 14th: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Sunday, November 15th: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

• Location: Historic King School House (102 King School Road, Gillham, AR)

Student Artwork Display

Our school will be collecting and displaying beautiful student artwork at the festival! To ensure our school is well represented, teachers are coordinating with Pre-K through 6th-grade classes to guarantee that every single student has at least one entry ready for the show. Entry is entirely free for these younger grade divisions, and all participating Clothesline Art students receive a ribbon!

Calling All Older Students (Grades 7–12)Parents, please encourage your older students to submit their original 2D or 3D artwork to be displayed! This is a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their talents and potentially win cash prizes (1st Place: $25, 2nd Place: $20, 3rd Place: $15).

• Important Note: There is a $1 entry fee per artwork for youth in grades 7–12 and a limit of two entries per artist.

• Guidelines: Paper pieces must be matted, and all works must be wired, framed, or securely strung for display.

Get Involved

Are you an artist? Submit your own art pieces! For more information, to ask questions about formatting, or to submit artwork, please contact us and ask for Ms. Shelton. We can't wait to see our students' (and families') creativity shine at the Historic King School House!

Girls Locker Room Transformation

The girls’ locker room has undergone an incredible transformation thanks to the hard work and dedication of Mr. and Mrs. Robbins! What was once a plain, tired space has been completely remodeled into a stunning, refreshed environment our Lady Warriors can be proud of. Their vision, effort, and attention to detail have made this space truly extraordinary. We are so grateful for the time and care they poured into this project to make our girls feel celebrated and ready to represent Legacy in style. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Robbins, for turning an ordinary locker room into something AMAZING!

Legends Dominate at Navy-White Night

The competition was fierce at our Legendary Navy vs. White Night! Our boys and girls basketball teams hit the court for scrimmages against the Legends and Lady Legends—and the Legends showed they still have game! The Legends dominated the Warriors, while the Lady Legends secured a decisive victory over the Lady Warriors. Students and families joined the fun with shooting competitions and an exciting round of Knockout. It was a night full of school spirit, friendly rivalry, and LEGACY PRIDE! It was a fantastic kickoff to Warrior basketball season. Once a Warrior, always a Warrior!

Warriors Take the Win at Ball in the Burg

Legacy made its mark at the Ball in the Burg tournament! The Lady Warriors dominated the court with an impressive 58–31 win over Victory, while the Warriors proved they were a force to be reckoned with, powering past Excel 70–38! Both teams brought the intensity, teamwork, and Warrior spirit, keeping the trophy right where it belongs—in the Burg! What a fantastic kickoff to the Legacy Warrior basketball season! We can’t wait to see what our Warriors and Lady Warriors accomplish this year. Way to go, Warriors!

Bringing Science to Life

Mrs. Spoo’s Physical Science class brought atomic theory to life with a chocolate chip cookie experiment, demonstrating the differences between Bohr’s Atomic Model and the Plum Pudding Model. The students shared their science knowledge—and their cookies—with Mrs. Bean’s toddler class, who returned the favor by sharing a reading of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. It was a sweet day of hands-on learning, sharing, and cross-classroom fun!
