Parents, thank you for your help and patience as we have worked out the kinks of a new school year in a new location! Please see the announcements and news updates below:
--4-H meeting will be held after school in the cafeteria on Monday and will be over at 4pm. Parents are encouraged to attend and additional parent volunteers are needed. 4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. For more than 100 years, 4‑H has welcomed young people of all beliefs and backgrounds, giving kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better.
--Basketball practice: Beginning Monday September 23, basketball practice will be until 4:15pm every day except Wednesdays or unless otherwise noted. Those students need their athletic clothes every day except Wednesday. If you desire to help with basketball, please let Mr. Gallagher know!
--PeeWee Basketball. Eventually, we want to explore hosting a Pee Wee basketball program/team for Lockesburg to participate in the area PeeWee competitions. If your Grammar level student is interested in playing, please let the office know.
--Special Student Services: Students with an IEP or who receive speech therapy or any other similar service will begin such services by October 1st. If you believe your student needs to be evaluated for assistance, please contact the office or the student's teacher to share your concern.
Projects: We have several needs for volunteers, including: work in the gym to get it and locker rooms, etc. ready for basketball season, cleaning lights and windows at the school building, trimming shrubs and exterior landscaping, helping assemble and install some additional outdoor playground equipment. If you can help, please let the office know.
Volunteers: if you are able to volunteer on a consistent basis every week with the cafeteria, library, a classroom, janitorial, etc. please let us know!
Yearbooks: Last year's yearbooks have been distributed!
Shuttle: are you available in the morning or afternoon to drive the De Queen shuttle; even if just one day a week? It would be helpful to have some additional drivers. Let us know!
