School Update 01/10/2020

Updated: Jan 12, 2020

Friday's Basketball Game

Today's basketball game against Tillar has been cancelled due to bad weather. There is also no basketball practice after school today, so all students should be collected at 3pm and shuttle-riders should catch the shuttle back to De Queen.

PeeWee Basketball Tournament

This Saturday the Legacy Warrior gym is hosting a round of PeeWee basketball games from 8:00am until 4:00pm. In order to facilitate this we are in need to your help to run the concession stand etc. Please let Ms Fisk know what times you would be available to help out. We are still in need of helpers for tomorrow!

Basketball Games

We have home basketball games against Lukfata on Monday January13th. Games start at 5:00pm and will begin with 5/6 girls game, followed by 5/6 boys game, JV girls, and finally JV boys. Come along and cheer our teams to victory!

Report Cards

Report cards are going out to all students today, Friday January 10th. All parents should receive one from their student today. If for any reason you do not receive a report card from your child, please contact the school office.

Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting

On Wednesday 15th January at 12:30 pm, the De Queen-Sevier County Chamber of Commerce is coming to the new Legacy Academy campus for an official ribbon cutting ceremony. This is a nice moment to formally honor that we’ve transitioned into our new campus and to celebrate our new location in the heart of Lockesburg. Friends and family are warmly invited to join us for this lunchtime event and we hope many of you will be able to drop by for the occasion!

Office Help Needed

We are sad to announce that after being with us for the past 5 years, Ms. Sanchez in the office will be leaving to take a new job in De Queen at the Ford place. We love and appreciate her much and wish her great success. Thankfully, with nephews enrolled here we will continue to see her. This creates a couple of important needs for the office:

1. We need temporary help manning the front desk and answering the phones. If you could do this 1/2 a day, a full day or even more it would be a tremendous blessing.

2. We need to hire someone new in the office. At this time, it is our intentions to hire someone who can coordinate a community grant program that Ms. Sanchez has overseen and to man the front desk of the office.

Accounting will be handled separately and outside of this position. If you can help in the short-term, email Mr. Gallagher. If you have a suggestion for the full-time position, email Mr. Gallagher at
