Updated: Jan 7, 2020

Basketball Games

There are two basketball nights this week. On Thursday, we play Garrett Memorial at 4:00 in the Warrior Gym and Friday at 4:00 against Cornerstone Christian in Tillar. Come and support our Warriors, including the JV boys who were victorious in the tournament on Saturday, as well as our JV girls and Senior boys!

PeeWee Games

This Saturday we are hosting 13 PeeWee games in the Warrior gym! Come down for a day of entertainment and cheer our students on. We are also in need of volunteers throughout the day to help on the gate, at the concession stand and to run the clock. If you are able to help out, please let Ms Fisk know. Please plan to pitch in on this day!

Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting

On Wednesday 15th January at 12:30 pm, the De Queen-Sevier County Chamber of Commerce is coming to the new Legacy Academy campus for an official ribbon cutting ceremony. This is a nice moment to formally honor that we’ve transitioned into our new campus and to celebrate our new location in the heart of Lockesburg. Friends and family are warmly invited to join us for this event.

Report cards

Report cards for the second quarter will be sent home with students on Friday January 10th. As in the first quarter, these do not need to be signed and returned. If you have any questions regarding anything on the report cards, please contact the teacher responsible for that particular class.

Mr Wright

As you may have heard, Mr Wright has had some visa issues meaning that he has been unable to return to Legacy Academy for the start of the quarter and is currently in England waiting for his visa to be approved. We know that he is supposed to be here with us and are praying for a swift resolution so that he can return back to his new home once more. Let us pray together for all issues to be resolved as quickly as possible! We miss him!

Mrs. Garner

Our condolences to Mrs. Garner’s family. Her father-in-law passed away unexpectedly this past weekend. Let us all keep them in our prayers.

Office Help Needed

We are sad to announce that after being with us for the past 5 years, Ms. Sanchez in the office will be leaving to take a new job in De Queen at the Ford place. We love and appreciate her much and wish her great success. Thankfully, with nephews enrolled here we will continue to see her. This creates a couple of important needs for the office. 1. We need temporary help manning the front desk and answering the phones. If you could do this 1/2 a day, a full day or even more it would be a tremendous blessing. Secondly, we need to hire someone new in the office. At this time, it is our intentions to hire someone who can coordinate a community grant program that Ms. Sanchez has overseen and to man the front desk of the office. Accounting will be handled separately and outside of this position. If you can help in the short-term, email Mr. Gallagher. If you have a suggestion for the full-time position, email Mr. Gallagher at chad.gallagher@legacymail.org.
