Legacy Thanksgiving Celebration | Nov. 21st

Mark your calendars! Our annual Thanksgiving Celebration will be held on Friday, November 21st at 11:00 a.m.This is one of our favorite Legacy traditions—a time for our students, staff, and families to gather and give thanks together.

To make this special event possible, we’ll need everyone’s help!

  • Volunteers: We need help with set-up, serving food, and clean-up after the meal.

  • Food & Supplies: Families are asked to sign up to bring entrées, sides, desserts, drinks, or paper goods (plates, cups, utensils, napkins, etc.).

To make cleanup quick and easy, please bring all food items in disposable pans or trays and, if possible, include disposable serving utensils as well.

Please take a moment to fill out our Thanksgiving Celebration Sign-Up Form to let us know how you can help or what you’ll bring!

Schedule Notes:

  • Bright Beginnings will close at 11:00 a.m. on November 21st.

  • Legacy Academy will dismiss early at 1:00 p.m. following the Thanksgiving Celebration.

Thank you for helping make this celebration one of the highlights of our school year! We’re looking forward to another wonderful Legacy family Thanksgiving together.

Lockesburg Christmas Parade| December 6th

Legacy Academy will once again take part in the Lockesburg Christmas Parade, and this year’s theme is Candyland! We need lots of hands (and sweet ideas!) to make our float shine.

We’re looking for:

  • Parents to help design and decorate our float

  • Students to ride the float and pass out candy

  • A truck and driver to pull the trailer

If you’d like to join the fun, please email Ms. Shelton at susan.shelton@legacymail.org or call the front office. Let’s make this year’s parade the sweetest one yet!

Weekly Assembly

Every Monday at 2:15 pm, we will have our school-wide weekly worship and assembly. Parents are always welcome to attend!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PAST WEEK:

State XC Meet

Friday the Legacy Academy Warriors Cross Country Team proudly represented our school at the State Cross Country Meet! After a season filled with early practices, determination, and teamwork, our runners gave it everything they had on the state stage.

From the first mile to the final sprint, our Warriors showed heart, resilience, and the drive that defines our program. Every stride reflected months of dedication and the strong support of our school community.

We’re still waiting for official results — those will be shared on Monday.

For now, we want to congratulate our athletes and coaches for an outstanding season and for earning the opportunity to compete among the best in the state. Your hard work and Warrior spirit make us all proud!

Stay tuned Monday for results!

Upper Level Field Trip to Old Washington!

On Friday, our Upper Level Legacy Academy students had the opportunity to travel to Old Washington to watch a live performance of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar.

This field trip offered students a chance to experience one of literature’s most famous plays come to life — exploring themes of leadership, loyalty, and the complexities of power. Seeing Shakespeare performed in a historic setting made the story even more engaging and meaningful.

Students enjoyed connecting what they’ve studied in class with the performance on stage, deepening their appreciation for classic literature and live theater.

A big thank-you to the organizers, teachers, and chaperones who made this enriching experience possible!

Caught in the Act... Of Kindness!

Kindness is contagious—and we’ve got the proof! Check out who’s been ‘caught in the act of kindness’ this week, spreading good vibes all around our school!

Legacy Littles from Bright Beginnings!

Our Legacy Littles from Bright Beginnings are a joyful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the bright future He has planned for our school community. Each child reflects the wonder of His creation and the promise of what is yet to come. We are grateful to walk alongside them as they begin their journey of learning, growing, and living out God’s purpose.

As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
