We are excited to announce our upcoming Oratory & Showcase Event scheduled for November 13!
This special event will feature students presenting their class projects and performing selected pieces of literature.
Students will have the opportunity to display their hard work, creativity, and public speaking skills, making it a memorable experience for both participants and attendees.
Oratory practice will take place after school on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Attendance is mandatory for all Upper Level students.
We look forward to seeing you there to support and celebrate the talents of our amazing students!

Legacy Thanksgiving Celebration | Nov. 21st
Mark your calendars! Our annual Thanksgiving Celebration will be held on Friday, November 21st at 11:00 a.m.This is one of our favorite Legacy traditions—a time for our students, staff, and families to gather and give thanks together.
To make this special event possible, we’ll need everyone’s help!
Volunteers: We need help with set-up, serving food, and clean-up after the meal.
Food & Supplies: Families are asked to sign up to bring entrées, sides, and desserts.
To make cleanup quick and easy, please bring all food items in disposable pans or trays and, if possible, include disposable serving utensils as well.
Please take a moment to fill out our Thanksgiving Celebration Sign-Up Form to let us know how you can help or what you’ll bring! Please Note: ALL paper products have been donated! We are still in need of entrees, sides, desserts... and we can NEVER have too many tamales!
Schedule Notes
Bright Beginnings will close at 11:00 a.m. on November 21st.
Legacy Academy will dismiss early at 1:00 p.m. following the Thanksgiving Celebration.
Turkey Feather of Gratitude
Next week, all PK–6th grade students will bring home a paper turkey feather to decorate with their families!
Each feather should include something your family is thankful for—you can add scripture, drawings, or decorations to make it your own!
Feathers will be sent home Monday, November 10th and should be returned to school by Friday, November 14th so we can display them at the celebration.
Thank you for helping make this celebration one of the highlights of our school year! We’re looking forward to another wonderful Legacy family Thanksgiving together.

Lockesburg Christmas Parade | December 6th
Legacy Academy will once again take part in the Lockesburg Christmas Parade, and this year’s theme is Candyland! We need lots of hands (and sweet ideas!) to make our float shine.
We’re looking for:
Parents to help design and decorate our float
Students to ride the float and pass out candy
A truck and driver to pull the trailer
Parents to donate individually wrapped candy
If you’d like to join the fun, please email Ms. Shelton at susan.shelton@legacymail.org or call the front office. Let’s make this year’s parade the sweetest one yet!

Weekly Assembly
Every Monday at 2:15 pm, we will have our school-wide weekly worship and assembly. Parents are always welcome to attend!
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PAST WEEK:
🏀 Basketball Season is in Full Swing! 🏀
The energy is high, the crowds are loud, and our teams are giving it their all! Every practice, every game, and every play is a testament to the dedication and teamwork our athletes bring to the court.
We’re proud of the effort and heart they’re showing — let’s keep the momentum going and make this the best season yet! 💪🔥
Caught in the Act... Of Kindness!
Kindness is contagious—and we’ve got the proof! Check out who’s been ‘caught in the act of kindness’ this week, spreading good vibes all around our school!

Legacy Littles from Bright Beginnings!
Our Legacy Littles from Bright Beginnings are a joyful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the bright future He has planned for our school community. Each child reflects the wonder of His creation and the promise of what is yet to come. We are grateful to walk alongside them as they begin their journey of learning, growing, and living out God’s purpose.
As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
