Founder's Note:
What a fun time of year Spring brings us. Watching our students take the stage at Spring Follies, give their Capstone presentations, and dress up for a formal meal, fun times, and dancing at Spring Formal are big highlights in the life of our school. One Important way we build culture is through events, special days, and traditions. This year's Spring Formal was second to none. It provides a critical opportunity for our students to have a lot of fun together, while also exercising social graces that might otherwise be out of their comfort zones. They dressed up, enjoyed a fine meal together, and had a fun time together without all the foolishness we too often see accompany these milestones. Modern culture puts tremendous pressure on young people to step ahead of God, finding themselves in situations that they are not ready for and that only complicate or harm their lives. We deliberately want to create fun days, great events, and age-appropriate progressions that allow them to make great memories in a different context, with a different set of values. It's a beautiful thing to be joyfully different! Banquets, awards, senior roast & toast, water day, and commencement all await us around the corner. We are going to drink it all in and treasure every moment!
What an honor we have to partner with you and your students!

Water Day | May 15th
Get ready—it’s almost time for one of the most exciting days of the year: Water Day on May 15th! Our students can’t wait to dive into a day packed with outdoor games, friendly competition, and refreshing water activities.
To make this day a splash hit, we are seeking volunteers to help with set up, running games, serving lunch, and cleaning up! If you’re available to help, please contact Ms. Gilmore at lynette.gilmore@legacymail.org.
Also, we could use some shade! If you have a pop-up canopy we’d love to borrow it for the day. Let us know if you have one we can use!
"What will my student need for water day?"
Glad you asked!
Sunscreen
Please apply before school and send the bottle with your student for all-day use. We will have reminders to reapply throughout the day and teachers to help littles. Please write your student(s) name on the bottle!
Towel
Microfiber towels do not fair well on water day, FYI! Please be sure to write your child's name on the towel.
Water Shoes
No flip-flops. Students will need shoes that can get wet and muddy, but will stay on their feet for running and game activities. We recommend river shoes or sandals that strap in the back.
Uniform bottoms/pants
Students will receive a Water Day t-shirt to wear. They should wear uniform bottoms with these. Again, we recommend something that can get wet and muddy! Students are not permitted to wear athletics shorts, swim trunks, or other street clothes.
Water Bottle
We will have frequent water breaks and remind students to hydrate throughout the day. This is much easier when students have a water bottle that they can keep close by! Please write your student's name on their water bottle!
Dry set of clothes
Students will be permitted to change into clean, dry clothes before they leave at the end of the day. These do not have to be uniform clothes -- just some dry, appropriate street clothes to go home in!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PAST WEEK
Senior Capstone Presentations
Last week, we had the privilege of watching two of our seniors, James Bartek and Skylar Alexander, present their Capstone Projects.
The Capstone Project represents the pinnacle of a student’s academic experience, requiring a long-term commitment to research, problem-solving, and mastery of a chosen topic.
James Bartek’s project showcased impressive innovation and practical application. He designed a specialized gate system for use in agricultural fields with central pivot irrigation, applying mathematical and engineering principles to solve a real-world problem. His work reflected thoughtful design, technical skill, and a clear understanding of the needs within modern agriculture.
Skylar Alexander’s Capstone focused on pediatric triage and treatment, a field she explored in depth as part of her calling toward becoming a pediatrician. Her project demonstrated both academic rigor and a compassionate vision for caring for young patients, highlighting her dedication to the medical field and her future goals.
Both students exemplified what Capstone is designed to cultivate: curiosity, perseverance, critical thinking, and the ability to clearly communicate what they have learned. We are incredibly proud of James and Skylar and look forward to seeing how their passions continue to develop beyond Legacy Academy.
Spring Formal
Spring Formal was a beautiful and memorable evening for our Legacy students and families! Held at the stunning Avalon Keep Botanical Gardens in Avalon Hall, the night was filled with laughter, connection, and celebration in a truly elegant setting.
Students spent the evening dancing and enjoying time together, and it was especially meaningful to see parents join in on the fun as well. Throughout the evening, students also participated in a lively game of Haggle, which added an extra layer of energy and excitement to the night.
A big thank you to Ms. Gilmore and the Hospitality team for catering the event—it was exceptional as always!
Wellness Challenge Update
We’ve got another great week of progress in the Health Challenge—way to go, everyone! The competition is staying close, and it’s exciting to see so many students building healthy habits.
This week’s standings:
Fortis – 111.5
Invicta – 106.0
Fidelis – 105.2
Veritas – 102.8
Fortis is holding onto the lead this week, but Invicta and Fidelis are right there—this could shift at any time! Keep encouraging your students to stay consistent with their healthy choices.
Did You Know?Taking a short walk after eating can actually help your body regulate blood sugar and improve digestion. Even just 10 minutes of movement makes a difference!
Family Wellness Tip:Try a 10-minute family walk after dinner a few nights this week. It’s an easy way to build a healthy habit, get some fresh air, and spend intentional time together—no special equipment or planning needed.
Keep up the great work—we love seeing the energy and commitment across all the houses!
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31
Don’t Miss Your EFA Renewal!
Time is ticking! Make sure to renew your EFA application as soon as possible to avoid any interruptions in your benefits. Renewing early ensures you stay covered and keeps your application on track—don’t wait until the last minute!
Please Note:
A separate survey is required for each student account if you have multiple students in EFA.
You will be asked to confirm next year’s grade level and school.
All questions must be completed before submitting the survey.
New EFA Applicants
Students who are new to the EFA program must complete an application through FACTS. If you need assistance with the renewal or application process, please contact Mrs. Hernandez or Mrs. Kesterson in the front office.
Weekly Assembly
Every Monday at 2:15 pm, we will have our school-wide weekly worship and assembly. Parents are always welcome to attend!
Don't forget that every Thursday at 7:50 am Mr. Gallagher is a guest on KDQN 92.1's morning show, The Morning Brew. This time is dedicated to talking about Legacy Academy and encouraging area parents in raising children with Biblical values. Tune in.
Re-Enrollment for 2026–2027 is now open!
We are already prayerfully planning for the 2026–2027 school year and would love to know your family’s intentions. If you anticipate your student returning to Legacy Academy, please take a moment to complete the Re-Enrollment Application by March 6th. Your response helps us plan effectively for classes, staffing, and resources. We are grateful for your continued partnership!
Make it a WIN-WIN: If a new family enrolls new students and lists you as the referral reason they are applying, then you will receive a $250 credit in the Warrior Shop for the next school year!
We are Hiring!
For NEXT YEAR: We are looking to add teachers in the Upper Level and Lower Level. We
are also hiring an additional para-professional to tutor in the Empowerment Lab.
