Honor & Awards Ceremony | May 12

Join us as we celebrate our students’ hard work, growth, and achievements at our annual Honor & Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:00 PM in the Legacy Academy auditorium.

During this special evening, we will recognize academic excellence, honor outstanding character, and celebrate our kindergarten students as they are promoted to first grade. Kindergarten students should arrive by 5:45 PM.

All students are required to attend and should wear their formal uniform.

We look forward to a wonderful evening celebrating all God has done in the lives of our students this year!

Water Day | May 15th

Get ready—it’s almost time for one of the most exciting days of the year: Water Day on May 15th! Our students can’t wait to dive into a day packed with outdoor games, friendly competition, and refreshing water activities.

To make this day a splash hit, we are seeking volunteers to help with set up, running games, serving lunch, and cleaning up! If you’re available to help, please contact Mrs. Mendoza at mary.mendoza@legacymail.org.

Also, we could use some shade! If you have a pop-up canopy we’d love to borrow it for the day. Let us know if you have one we can use!

"What will my student need for water day?"

Glad you asked!

  • Sunscreen

    • Please apply before school and send the bottle with your student for all-day use. We will have reminders to reapply throughout the day and teachers to help littles. Please write your student(s) name on the bottle!

  • Towel

    • Microfiber towels do not fair well on water day, FYI! Please be sure to write your child's name on the towel.

  • Water Shoes

    • No flip-flops. Students will need shoes that can get wet and muddy, but will stay on their feet for running and game activities. We recommend river shoes or sandals that strap in the back.

  • Uniform bottoms/pants

    • Students will receive a Water Day t-shirt to wear. They should wear uniform bottoms with these. Again, we recommend something that can get wet and muddy! Students are not permitted to wear athletics shorts, swim trunks, or other street clothes.

  • Water Bottle

    • We will have frequent water breaks and remind students to hydrate throughout the day. This is much easier when students have a water bottle that they can keep close by! Please write your student's name on their water bottle!

  • Dry set of clothes

    • Students will be permitted to change into clean, dry clothes before they leave at the end of the day. These do not have to be uniform clothes -- just some dry, appropriate street clothes to go home in!

The Summer Schedule is HERE!

The wait is over—our summer schedule is finally here! Check out all the exciting camps and activities, then secure your spot by registering HERE  and submitting your fees online HERE.

Summer Camp Service Hours Available:

Students interested in working at summer camps for service hours should contact Mr. Smallwood. This is an excellent time to get started, get caught up, or get ahead on those service hours!

EFA Payment Requests

Payment requests for the 4th Quarter EFA funds have been sent. Parents may log in to ClassWallet to review and approve these payments. Please note that you will no longer receive a separate invoice from the Legacy Academy office—all billing information is included in the payment requests. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the school office.

Commencement | May 21

Legacy Academy will celebrate the Class of 2026 at Graduation on Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 PM in the gymnasium. A reception in the auditorium will immediately follow the ceremony.

We are proud of the leaders and young adults they have become, and we look forward to seeing how God continues to guide their futures. All families and friends are invited to attend this special evening of celebration, reflection, and gratitude for God’s faithfulness through every step of their journey.

Summer Book Club Begins May 16

Incoming 7th–12th grade students are invited to join our Summer Book Club beginning May 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Stillwells. This summer we will be reading Roverandom together!

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the meetings, as well as any food or drinks they choose to purchase at Stillwells.

A full summer meeting schedule will be discussed during our first club meeting. We hope you’ll join us for a fun summer of reading and discussion!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PAST WEEK

Senior Assembly

This week’s Senior Assembly was a meaningful and memorable time as Legacy Academy gathered to celebrate and hear from graduating seniors.

Seniors shared heartfelt reflections on their experiences at Legacy, speaking about the ways the school community, teachers, friendships, and faith-centered environment have shaped their lives. They encouraged younger students to stay involved, value relationships, work hard, and make the most of their time at Legacy while sharing favorite memories and lessons learned along the way.

Events like this are one of the things that make Legacy joyfully different, giving us a glimpse into the work of the Lord in the hearts and lives of our students. It is always a blessing to hear students speak with gratitude, wisdom, and sincerity about the ways God has worked through their time at Legacy Academy.

We are proud of both seniors and excited to see how God continues to guide their paths in the future.

Senior Days

Senior Days was a special time to celebrate the Class of 2026 and the impact they have made on our school community. Seniors spent meaningful time throughout the campus visiting classrooms and connecting with younger students. They shared stories and smiles while reading to the daycare classes and created memorable graduation caps alongside our Kindergarten students.

The celebration continued with a reception followed by a heartfelt Roast and Toast, where classmates, staff, and family members shared laughter, memories, and words of encouragement for the future. The day concluded with the annual Senior Walk, giving students one final opportunity to walk the halls together as the school community cheered them on. It was a memorable celebration honoring the accomplishments, relationships, and legacy of this year’s seniors.

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week was a wonderful reminder of how blessed we are to have teachers who not only educate, but also lead with faith, compassion, and servant hearts. The love of Christ shines through the way they encourage, pray for, and invest in our students each day, leaving an impact that will last far beyond the classroom.

Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate our teachers:

  • Chicken Express, Casa Paisano Mexican Cuisine, Stilwell’s Restaurant, G&G Catering, and Mrs. Vazquez for providing lunch.

  • Southern Bancorp for the sweet treats.

  • Our Student Council for serving refreshing lemonade.

  • And our administration for blessing our teachers with car detailing services!

We are truly thankful for such a generous and supportive community.

Athletic Banquet Recap

We are so thankful for a wonderful evening celebrating our student athletes at this year’s Athletic Banquet! It was a special time of fellowship and recognition as we reflected on all that our teams accomplished throughout the year.

Our athletes have worked incredibly hard, showing dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and Christ-like character both in competition and in everyday life. We are grateful for the many ways they represent our school so well.

Most importantly, we give thanks to God for His blessings, protection, growth, and the relationships built through athletics. Thank you to our coaches, families, and supporters who helped make this season and banquet such a success!

Wellness Challenge Final Stretch!

The Health Challenge is officially in its final week! Students and staff have done a great job building healthier habits, encouraging one another, and finishing the school year strong. We are excited to announce the winning House during Water Day on May 15!

As we wrap up the challenge, we want to encourage everyone to stay focused on consistency and stewardship — remembering that healthy habits are built little by little over time.

Did You Know?

Stretching regularly can improve flexibility, posture, circulation, and even reduce stress and muscle tension. Just a few minutes of stretching each day can help your body feel more energized and ready for activity.

Wellness Tip for Families:

Try taking 5–10 minutes together in the evening for simple stretching or movement. It can be a great way to relax, connect, and unwind together at the end of the day.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” - 2 Timothy 4:7

Don’t Miss Your EFA Renewal!

Time is ticking! Make sure to renew your EFA application as soon as possible to avoid any interruptions in your benefits. Renewing early ensures you stay covered and keeps your application on track—don’t wait until the last minute!

Please Note:

  • A separate survey is required for each student account if you have multiple students in EFA.

  • You will be asked to confirm next year’s grade level and school.

  • All questions must be completed before submitting the survey.

New EFA Applicants

Students who are new to the EFA program must complete an application through FACTS. If you need assistance with the renewal or application process, please contact Mrs. Hernandez or Mrs. Kesterson in the front office.

Re-Enrollment for 2026–2027 is now open!

We are already prayerfully planning for the 2026–2027 school year and would love to know your family’s intentions. If you anticipate your student returning to Legacy Academy, please take a moment to complete the Re-Enrollment Application by March 6th. Your response helps us plan effectively for classes, staffing, and resources. We are grateful for your continued partnership!

Make it a WIN-WIN: If a new family enrolls new students and lists you as the referral reason they are applying, then you will receive a $250 credit in the Warrior Shop for the next school year!

We are Hiring!

For NEXT YEAR: We are looking to add teachers in the Upper Level and Lower Level.
