Pee Wee Basketball
It’s time to start getting organized for another great season of Pee Wee Basketball!
As always, we are a small school, and we need as many kids as possible to participate so we can build teams and have a successful season. Please begin talking with your students and encouraging them to play!
We are also looking for volunteers who would be willing to help coach, assist, or support our Pee Wee teams this season. Contact the front office if you are able to help!
Registration and payment information will be available next week, so keep an eye on Remind and the newsletter for the official sign-up link.
We’re looking forward to another fun season of working hard, playing hard, and cheering on our Warriors!
Family Picnic Night | September 24
Join us Thursday, September 24, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. for one of our favorite simple evenings together as a Legacy community!
Family Picnic Night is exactly what it sounds like: a relaxed evening to bring dinner, spread out a blanket, visit with other families, let the kids play, and enjoy being together with no big agenda.
Bring:
Chairs or a picnic blanket
A simple supper for your family
Yard games to share, if you’d like
We’ll provide:
Water and sweet tea
A few outdoor games
Come as you are, bring your people, and enjoy an easy night of food, laughter, games, and community. We hope to see you there!
Upcoming Testing Dates
Several important testing dates are coming up for our students:
September 29: ACT for 9th–12th grade
September 29: CLT for 7th–8th grade
September 30: CLT for 3rd–4th grade
October 1: CLT for 5th–6th grade
October 29: CLT for 11th–12th grade
November 5: CLT for 9th–10th grade
As testing days approach, please help students come prepared to do their best. A good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and arriving on time can make a big difference in helping students feel focused and ready for the day.
Story of the Week in Mrs. Bean’s Class
Mrs. Bean’s class at Bright Beginnings is building a love of reading one story at a time!
Each week, the class chooses a Story of the Week to read and explore together. Last week, they enjoyed Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?, and this week they are reading The Big Red Barn. After today’s story, the students followed it up with a fun craft by creating their very own big red barns!
Reading the same story throughout the week helps young children build routine and excitement while giving them opportunities to notice new details in the illustrations each time. It also strengthens memory, focus, comprehension, and vocabulary.
We love seeing our littlest learners grow through stories, creativity, and hands-on learning!
Warrior Day | October 2
It’s almost time for Warrior Day! Students will spend the day going head-to-head in games, challenges, competitions, and plenty of school-spirit fun as the Navy and White teams battle it out for bragging rights.
We’ll need parent volunteers to help make the day a success. If you’d like to join in the fun and help with activities throughout the day, please call the front office to sign up.
Come ready to compete, cheer loud, and show your Warrior pride. Navy or White... which team will come out on top?
Navy-White Night 10/13
If you are a Legacy Academy Alumni or parent, who is willing to lace up your shoes and play we want you! Please email Hanna.webb@legacymail.org for more information!
Warrior Dash 2026 was a blast!
Thank you to everyone who came out for an evening of running, House spirit, family fun, and plenty of color on the trail. We loved seeing our Legacy community show up to support our XC team and cheer one another on!
A few special honors from the evening:
1st Place Finisher: Jude Gallagher
Most Dramatic Finish: Jude Gallagher
Most School Spirit: Emilee Balderas
Most Family Members Participating: The Bartek Family
Most House Participants: Fortis
Trail Sweeper: Leslie McCleskey
Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to every runner, walker, family member, volunteer, and supporter who helped make Warrior Dash such a fun night for Legacy!
Scholar Induction 2026
Thursday, our Legacy community gathered for one of our most meaningful traditions, the annual Scholar Induction Ceremony.
Throughout the evening, students were recognized as they stepped into new stages of their Legacy journey as Rookies, Protégés, Apprentices, and Scholars. Each group was reminded that growth at Legacy is about more than academics. It is also about growing in character, maturity, responsibility, and leadership.
The evening culminated with our newest Scholars accepting the call to lead by example and receiving their navy blazers and Scholar patches from their families.
We are proud of each of our students and grateful for the families, teachers, and community who continue to walk alongside them as they grow. Congratulations to all of our newly inducted students!
2026-2027 Academic Calendar
While the calendar is considered final for planning purposes, please note that minor adjustments may occasionally be necessary throughout the year. Any changes will be communicated through the weekly newsletter and reflected on the school Google Calendar.
We encourage families to save a copy of the calendar and refer to the Google Calendar regularly for the most up-to-date information.
