HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PAST WEEK
Honor and Awards Ceremony — May 19th
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Honor and Awards Ceremony. It was a joy to celebrate the diligence, achievement, leadership, and Christlike character of our students throughout the year. From honoring outstanding accomplishments to promoting our kindergarteners into first grade, the evening was filled with meaningful moments and grateful reflection.
Our choir’s presentation of “Is He Worthy?” accompanied by senior James Bartek, served as a beautiful reminder that while we honor our students’ hard work, all honor ultimately belongs to the Lord who has faithfully sustained us this year.
“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” — Proverbs 22:1
Thank you to our students, families, faculty, and staff for making this year such a blessing.
NHS Service Project
Members of the National Honor Society recently completed their annual spring service project by cleaning and restoring the school’s cross country trail during the week of May 4–9.
The half-mile trail winds through the woods and glade area on campus and features three challenging hill climbs along with a creek crossing.
Throughout the week, NHS members worked hard to prepare the course for summer training by removing fallen limbs and logs, trimming brush, raking debris, mowing, weed-eating, and spraying for weeds and poison ivy. Thanks to their efforts, the trail looks outstanding and is ready for runners to begin summer conditioning.
We are grateful for the leadership and service demonstrated by our current NHS members:
Skylar Alexander
James Bartek
Jude Gallagher
Olivia Lofton
Makayea Martinez
Libbie Bartek
Myleigh Fry
Christopher Real
Silas Lofton
Thank you to these students for investing their time and hard work to improve our campus and serve our school community
Student Council Elections for 2026-2027
The Upper Level student body participated in Student Council elections for the 2026–27 school year this week. Candidates delivered campaign speeches during lunch on Tuesday, May 12, sharing their reasons for wanting to serve the student body. Following the speeches, Upper Level students cast their votes to select next year’s officers.
Congratulations to the newly elected Student Council officers:
President: Jude Gallagher
Vice President: Silas Lofton
Secretary: Hanna Grace Lofton
Spirit Commissioner: Roberto Reyna-Llanas
We are proud of all students who participated in the election process and look forward to the leadership, school spirit, and service these officers will bring to the upcoming school year.
Fiesta Fest Winner!
Legacy Academy is excited to celebrate Nikolai Ward from Mrs. Webb’s 4th grade class for being named the 4th grade winner of the Fiesta Fest Vibrance of Community Art Exhibition!
Students participating in the exhibition were given a coloring sheet along with the prompt, “What does community look like to you?” Submissions were entered from 3rd–5th grade students across Sevier County, including students from De Queen and Horatio schools. Nikolai’s artwork stood out for its creativity and color.
We are proud of Nikolai for his artistic achievement and love seeing our students use their gifts and creativity to represent Legacy Academy. Congratulations, Nikolai!
Water Day!
Legacy Academy had an “event”-ful week that concluded with Water Day! It was a fun-filled day, with games, slides, soap and lots of water! Students and teachers were able to take a well deserved break from the hard work they have put in this school year. The Lord has given us such a wonderful school community to allow for a day like this to happen.
Highlights of the day included Ms. Gilmore’s grilled hotdogs and all out toppings, the LVFD supplying a shower of water for us, an epic water balloon fight and the announcement of the health challenge winner! As usual we stuck to our belief of “work hard, play hard”!
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
Health Challenge Champions!
After weeks of hard work, healthy choices, encouragement, and perseverance, we are excited to announce that House Fortis is the winner of the Legacy Academy Health Challenge with an impressive final score of 162.6 points!
Final House Standings:
Fortis — 162.6
Invicta — 152.1
Veritas — 152.1
Fidelis — 151.0
As a school, students and staff earned an incredible 11,046 total points throughout the challenge!
We are so proud of every house for the effort, teamwork, and positive attitudes shown during this challenge. Students worked together to steward their bodies and health well, encourage one another, build healthy habits, and honor the Lord through discipline and perseverance.
As the winning house, House Fortis will enjoy a special House Day celebration this Thursday during the school day!
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this challenge such a success. Every house represented Legacy Academy well, and we are grateful for the joy, unity, and encouragement that filled our school throughout the competition. “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9
Summer Book Club
Legacy Academy’s Summer Book Club officially kicked off this week as incoming 7th–12th grade students gathered at Stillwells for the first meeting of the summer! Students enjoyed spending time together, discussing the beginning of Roverandom, and looking ahead to a summer filled with reading, conversation, and community.
We are excited to see students continue building friendships, growing in their love of reading, and engaging in thoughtful discussion together throughout the summer.
Our next Book Club meeting will be held on June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Stillwells. We are looking forward to another great discussion together!
Don’t Miss Your EFA Renewal!
Time is ticking! Make sure to renew your EFA application as soon as possible to avoid any interruptions in your benefits. Renewing early ensures you stay covered and keeps your application on track—don’t wait until the last minute!
Please Note:
A separate survey is required for each student account if you have multiple students in EFA.
You will be asked to confirm next year’s grade level and school.
All questions must be completed before submitting the survey.
New EFA Applicants
Students who are new to the EFA program must complete an application through FACTS. If you need assistance with the renewal or application process, please contact Mrs. Hernandez or Mrs. Kesterson in the front office.
Re-Enrollment for 2026–2027 is now open!
We are already prayerfully planning for the 2026–2027 school year and would love to know your family’s intentions. If you anticipate your student returning to Legacy Academy, please take a moment to complete the Re-Enrollment Application by March 6th. Your response helps us plan effectively for classes, staffing, and resources. We are grateful for your continued partnership!
Make it a WIN-WIN: If a new family enrolls new students and lists you as the referral reason they are applying, then you will receive a $250 credit in the Warrior Shop for the next school year!
We are Hiring!
