LA News - Week of March 14th

Report Cards

Last week was the end of our third quarter of the year. Report cards will be sent home with your students on Friday, the final day before Spring Break. If you have any questions regarding the report card, please contact the relevant teacher or the office for general questions.

Oratory Night

We had a hugely successful Oratory Program on Thursday night. Students from 5th grade to 12 grade took part to recite extracts from speeches, historical literature, a range of poetry, and scriptural passages. They all carried themselves with great poise, articulated themselves confidently, and demonstrated the vast wealth of learning that takes place every day in our classrooms! Well done to all students who were involved.

Public speaking, we know, can be a anxiety-inducing prospect, and, as well as teaching our students the facts of learning and the skill of thinking clearly, one of the primary goals of a Classical Education is to teach students to communicate themselves articulately and persuasively - the art of Rhetoric - and our program on Thursday showcased this in abundance.

Enrollment for 2022-2023

We are now enrolling for the next school year. If you are wishing to re-enroll your students and have not yet returned your Intent to Re-Enroll form, please do so as soon as possible. If you require another copy of the form being sent home or emailed to you, please contact Mrs. Kesterson in the office.

We are also looking for new teaching staff to join our team in the new year. If you know of anyone who is interested in teaching at Legacy Academy, or in other support roles at the school, please direct them to our website.

Spring Follies

Mark your calendars for Friday, April 1st -- Spring Follies, 2022!

One of the great occasions of our school year, we are looking forward to a fun-filled night of student and teacher skits, featuring the very best that Legacy Academy has to offer! Laughter, as they say, is the best medicine.

Rehearsals will begin in earnest this week. Keep an eye out for any additional after-school practice schedule for Upper Level students.

Parents and families, if you would like to help out with this event, there are always a large number of additional tasks that make an evening like this happen - both in advance and on the day itself.

Please contact Mrs. Kesterson (cynthia.kesterson@legacymail.org), if so.

Spring Break -- March 21-25

Enjoy the time off and we will see you after the break for the final leg of our school year.
