Science Camp Recap!

We had an epic time at Science Camp this week! Our 1st–6th graders jumped into hands-on experiments, made invisible ink messages, explored the wonders of physics, and got delightfully messy in the name of science. Laughter, learning, and a whole lot of curiosity made these two days unforgettable. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a success—we're already looking forward to next year’s discoveries!

Culinary Camp July 14-18

During culinary camp this year, students entering 5th grade and up will have the opportunity to test out several new recipes that are contenders for the upcoming school year cafeteria menu. They will create these recipes, taste test them and vote on whether to add them to the upcoming menu or veto them! We will be creating lasagna, million dollar spaghetti, potato soup, bread and a tasty dessert! You will not want to miss being a part of this! Don’t forget to register! Registration fee is $25. See you there!

Attendees, please bring a kitchen knife (for chopping) and a hand mixer and/or a whisk to camp!

Only 12th grade students are eligible to work as helpers for Culinary Camp to receive service hours. However, there will be service hour opportunities in the afternoon for any 9-12 graders who want to stick around after camp!

Legacy Book Club

Calling all upper-level students! Join us for Legacy Book Club this summer — a time to connect with friends, enjoy great conversation, and dive into some good reads.

We’ll be meeting at Stilwell’s in DeQueen from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the following Fridays:

  • July 25

  • August 1 & 15

Students are welcome to purchase food or drinks at Stilwell’s, but please note that they will be responsible for covering the cost. Transportation will not be provided.

No registration is required — just come ready to hang out and talk books. We hope to see your student there! Mr. Smallwood and Mrs. Spoo are leading the book club and looking forward to the fun hangouts together!

Join the Second Lady Usha Vance Summer Reading Challenge!

Legacy Academy students in grades K–8 are invited to take part in the Second Lady Usha Vance Summer Reading Challenge! This nationwide initiative encourages young readers to keep their minds sharp and imaginations active all summer long through the joy of reading.

Participants will set personal reading goals, explore great books, and have the chance to be recognized for their efforts. It’s a wonderful way to stay engaged and grow as a reader during the summer months.

A PDF with full details and instructions is attached to this newsletter. We hope many of our Legacy Warriors will take part in this exciting opportunity!

Happy reading!

Now HIRING !

We are still needing a couple more daycare workers for the 2025-26 school year. Is it you? If not, help us find the best fit!

Please complete your 25-26 EFA Application

Remember that we will accept EFAs as 100% of your tuition obligation next year if you do not qualify for any other assistance. Actual tuition based on true operation costs would be $10,500 annually. However, LA will accept EFA as tuition paid in full. If you qualify for other assistance to cover the additional amount we will help you with those applications. This means we should be able to ensure that not a single LA family has any out-of-pocket tuition expenses! The number of EFAs is not unlimited and over 30,000 Arkansas students have already applied. DO NOT DELAY ANY LONGER. Please complete your application today. The office can help you if needed. If you end up not using it, that's no problem but don't miss the funds available for your student. Families who received EFA for the 2024-2025 school year must still reapply for next year. Families already receiving EFA will need your student(s) individual Student ID Number to complete the application. You can find this on your ClassWallet account.
