Water & Field Day 2022

We had a great day at Water & Field Day on Friday! Students and staff alike had loads of fun and certainly got very wet! We even had a surprise visit from the Lockesburg Fire Department who came and soaked us all, too!

One of the things we love to see is students from all grades working and playing together, and it is a joy to see our children actively taking an active part in Legacy Academy community life!

State Track Championship

Our young track program attended the final athletics event of the year on Saturday, May 7th. Our upper level students competed at the HCAA State Championship. Our students represented our school well with a number of our boys medalling. Eli Mitchell secured first place in the Junior Boys shot put competition; Ethan Gallagher placed second in the Senior Boys discus; Manolo Vazquez came in third in the Junior Boys long jump and 100m dash; and our 4x100m runners - Everrette Martz, Wyatt Roden, Manolo Vazquez and Eli Mitchell - claimed second place.

Well done to everyone who took part!

Community Clean-Up -- Saturday, May 21st

At Legacy Academy we believe in building a life of service. As a part of our commitment to the City of Lockesburg, Legacy Academy will be participating in a community clean-up on May 21st, organized by the Chamber of Commerce. Students in grades 9-12 are required to participate and will receive off-campus service hours. All other upper level students are invited to attend; along with parents and other family members of all students. Lower level students must be accompanied by an adult. Even if you can only attend for 1 hour, please do! The Chamber will provide all supplies, t-shirts, and lunch.

Teacher Appreciation Week

All our Legacy teachers were overwhelmed by the gifts and messages that they received last week. For all our teachers, it is continually a joy to teach at Legacy and to serve all the students as they grow. Our work is unto the Lord and your kind expressions of gratitude are very meaningful.

Honor & Awards Ceremony-- Thursday, May 19th

Our Honor & Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 19 in the LA Auditorium, where we will be presenting our Athletics, Academic, and Character Awards to students from all grades, as well as holding our Kindergarten graduation. It is a great event to celebrate the values that make Legacy what it is - Strength, Virtue, Excellence.

Graduation--Friday, May 27th

Legacy Academy's second ever graduating class will complete their journey with us this year, and their Commencement will be held on Friday, May 27. As we reflect on the students' time with us, rehearse the values that we teach, and celebrate the raising of godly men and women, we invite students of all ages and their families to attend this momentous occasion. It is the power of the journey that makes us strong!

Summer Help

Over the summer there will also be a range of work to do, including mowing and weed-eating outside, and a variety of maintenance and housekeeping jobs inside the school. Parent volunteering is one way that we are able to keep tuition costs for the school down, so if you have time, materials, or skills that can be used, please let us know by calling the office (870-642-8937) or emailing Mrs. McCleskey (leslie.mccelskey@legacymail.org).
