Honor & Awards Ceremony--Thursday, 6pm

Our Honor & Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 19 in the LA Auditorium, where we will be presenting our Athletics, Academic, and Character Awards to students from all grades, as well as holding our Kindergarten graduation. It is a great event to celebrate the values that make Legacy what it is - Strength, Virtue, Excellence. All students are expected to attend and all students should wear their formal uniform.

All fan gear in the Warrior Shop will be on clearance!

Summer Ball in the Burg!

We are very excited to announce a great summer program lined out for our basketball players of all ages. We are very fortunate to have Elite Trainer Jason Otter coming to Legacy Academy the week of June 6-10th! Normally, his camps are $575 for the camp and an additional $160 for the extra shooting day. We have secured this camp at $250 for our players entering 4th-12th grades! This is a BIG deal. Every school runs their own camps but if we want to be something different, we have to DO something different. Bringing in a nationally recognized trainer with amazing results is a huge opportunity for all of our students. You can learn more about Otter basketball at www.otterbasketball.com

In addition to Otter Camp we will offer our own program for two weeks at the end June and two weeks at the end of July.

Here's the schedule:

June 6-9th, M-Th OTTER CAMP ($250 per player)

8am-12pm--Entering 4th-7th Grade

1pm-5pm--Entering 8th-12th Grade

____

June 10th, F Optional ADDITIONAL 1-DAY OTTER SHOOTING CAMP ($160 per player)

8am-1pm--Entering 6th-12th grade

This is just an extra add-on for interested players who want that extra day for their shooting.

Each week this is the schedule:

In summary $250 will get your student 5 weeks of a safe place to be this summer, improvement to their basketball skills, fun memories, games and competitions, lunch, and a daily devotion.

Capstone Presentations

On Friday afternoon, our senior students each presented their Capstone presentations. Capstone projects are the pinnacle of a Legacy student's academic work, which involve learning about a new subject area or skill, understanding how all its parts work together to make a project, and then communicating its meaning and importance with wisdom -- the three stages of classical education: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric.

The presentations were the culmination of all this work, where they shared the process of creating their project, the highs and lows, and the personal development it effected in them. We are proud of each one of their journeys and are confident that their Capstone journeys have equipped for the next stage of their lives!

Community Clean-Up

At Legacy Academy we believe in building a life of service. As a part of our commitment to the City of Lockesburg, Legacy Academy will be participating in a community clean-up on May 21st, organized by the Chamber of Commerce. Students in grades 9-12 are required to participate and will receive off-campus service hours. All other upper level students are invited to attend; along with parents and other family members of all students. Lower level students must be accompanied by an adult. Even if you can only attend for 1 hour, please do! The Chamber will provide all supplies, t-shirts, and lunch.

It is not too late to register. Contact Mrs. McCleskey (leslie.mccleskey@legacymail.org) if you would like to attend or if you have any questions.

Graduation, Friday May 27th

Legacy Academy's second ever graduating class will complete their journey with us this year, and their Commencement will be held on Friday, May 27. As we reflect on the students' time with us, rehearse the values that we teach, and celebrate the raising of godly men and women, we invite students of all ages and their families to attend this momentous occasion. It is the power of the journey that makes us strong!

Enrollment for the Fall

Help us spread the word -- we are enrolling new students at Legacy Academy for all grades, Pre-K to 12th. If you have friends or family in the area who are looking for alternative educational options, tell them about Legacy - tell them about your experience with at Legacy!

If parents have questions, they can find out more on our website, on our Facebook page, or by emailing academy@legacymail.org.

Hiring Staff

As well as new students, we are also looking for new teachers to teach all levels, but particularly for teachers in our upper level. There are also vacancies for support staff in a range of roles: administrative, hospitality, facilities.

Application forms for all these positions are available on our website.

Summer Help

Over the summer there will also be a range of work to do, including mowing and weed-eating outside, and a variety of maintenance and housekeeping jobs inside the school. Parent volunteering is one way that we are able to keep tuition costs for the school down, so if you have time, materials, or skills that can be used, please let us know by calling the office (870-642-8937) or emailing Mrs. McCleskey (leslie.mccelskey@legacymail.org).
