Parents,
We had a great start to the new year. We are confident this, our 17th, is going to be our best year yet! We began the day with a school-wide assembly where we worshiped together and shared three main themes for the year.
Stand Where God Is!
John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also…"
Be New!
Ephesians 4:22-24 “in reference to your former way of life, lay aside the old self…and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self…”
We Need Each Other!
Ecclesiastes 4:9 "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor…"
For "Stand Where God Is", we emphasized that we always want to be near the Lord, to follow Him closely, and how important it is that in everything we want to always move our hearts to be in full agreement with Him and His word.
For "Be New", we talked about this moment as a moment to lay aside the old and to become new. Christ offers for all men to become new and, as Christians, we can partner with God to continue to grow, change, and become new in the Lord. The new school year is a new chance for everyone to have a new start and to make the year a wonderful year.
Under “We Need Each Other”, we talked about how valuable it is for us to have others in our lives to help us. We all need each other. We need to be a voice of encouragement to one another and recognize that God puts people in our lives to help us.
OUR NEW HOUSE SYSTEM:
Today, we also unveiled our new house system. The house system places every student K-12 in a house, which operates like a school family or team. Each house has students of all ages. The houses will be used for friendly competitions, service opportunities, small groups and devotionals, and mentoring between older and younger students.
Our houses use Latin names and are:
Fidelis (Faithful)—color: green
Fortis (Brave)—color: red
Invicta (Unconquerable spirit)—color: orange
Veritas (Truth)—color: light blue
We look forward to partnering with you for to make this a great year of growth and success for all of our students. As a staff, we are praying for all of you.
