Updated: Jan 26, 2020

Website Calendar

Parents & Grandparents, please remember that there is a calendar near the bottom of the home page of our website: www.legacywarriors.org This calendar is updated daily with school events and activities. You can even subscribe to it as a google calendar and have it added to your phone or other devices!

Medication Form

Thank you to those parents who have already completed this important form for us! A reminder that all students need to have a completed medication authorization form on record, so that the school can know your preferences regarding the administering of over-the-counter medicines to your student. The form can be found here or by completing a physical copy which can be found in the school office.

Parents with multiple students may use one form if there is no deviation in answers from students to student. If you are using one form for multiple students, then please ensure that all students’ names are listed for whom the form applies.

National School Choice Week

Next week is National School Choice Week which shines a spotlight on effective education options for children all over the country. It is an opportunity for us to help advocate for states to adopt friendlier policies supporting school choice and empowering parents to choose any school they believe best for their students. States that have adopted vouchers and other such programs that allow parents' tax dollars to follow their students to a private school to pay for tuition have seen their public schools and the state's overall education levels and scores dramatically increase. Competition breeds success for everyone. More importantly, all parents, not just the independently wealthy should be allowed to send their children to where they believe best. School choice is a big topic in the Arkansas legislature in recent sessions. We are hopeful that we see significant legislation passed that allows our parents to choose the best school option for their students without finances stopping them from making that decision. We want to ensure this happens for all Arkansas families. During National School Choice week next week, we will be sharing various posts and stories tied into that with other schools and families across the nation. Please help us share those items through your social media feeds.

Grants

Over the last few months Legacy Academy has been the recipient of a number of generous grants to help develop various programs at the school. Weyerhauser have given us money to help develop our computer lab, which will allow students to be exposed to a broader range of educational resources and online courses. The WalMart Foundation has matched the funding given by Weyerhauser for this program. We are very excited and thankful for these new computers!

Brooks Running have given us funds for brand new athletics shoes and uniforms for track - you will already have heard some information about this - and as we look forward to track season, we are very excited to see it all in action! Thank you, Brooks Running!

Office Help

We have been incredibly grateful for all of the support that has been given to the office over the last few weeks. With Mr Wright's continued absence it has been a huge blessing to have you help cover the front desk and handle the inquiries that have come in. Thank you!

If you are available over the next few weeks to help out in this regard, please let Mr. Gallagher know at chad.gallagher@legacymail.org.
