In a partnership with the Lofton Family Clinic, Cynthia Kesterson will join Legacy Academy as its school nurse for the 2019-2020 school year at its new campus in Lockesburg. Cynthia is a nurse at the Lofton Family Clinic, where she is the charge nurse, care coordinator, and counsels patients with chronic issues. She will continue to serve as the care coordinator, reviewing patient care and files remotely for the clinic but be housed at Legacy Academy, where she will be available to the growing student body as a school nurse. She will also participate in the teaching team, under Dr. Jason Lofton for the school's Health and Wellness program and courses. Kesterson is an RN and has served as a nurse since 2014. She began her career in healthcare as a CNA, working in long term care for five years prior to becoming a nurse. She and her husband Shaun have two children.
"We are very excited about this new arrangement that allows us to have a registered nurse on campus year round. Our partnership with Dr. Lofton has brought tremendous benefits to Legacy Academy and we look forward to its expansion and having Cynthia on campus this year." said school founder, Chad Gallagher.
