Founder's Note
It's tax day, Monday. On tax day I always think of Matthew 22:21 "Then He said, "Then pay to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's." On tax day it's time that we settle up and pay what we owe the government. I never want to pay the government a penny more than I owe, but I do want to pay the debt that's mine to society. Importantly, this verse draws our mind to our obligation to "render to God the things that are God's". As Christians, this world is a foreign territory. It's not meant to be the place we love and set our affections on. We aren't meant to live like the heathen of the world who focus on personal gratification and selfish pursuits. Instead, it is our privilege to walk with God, give our lives and energy to Him, and live a Biblical-grade life that honors Him. Romans 12:1 says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service." Being a living sacrifice to the Lord day by day is ours to render to the Lord and doing so is much more joyful than paying taxes!

Capstone Presentations -- April 25
Our Capstone Presentations are scheduled for Thursday, April 25 at 2:15pm in the LA Auditorium. Friends and family are all invited to attend this to hear the culmination of our senior students' two-year projects. Contact Mr. Ward with any questions.
For those unfamiliar with Legacy's Capstone project, it is a crowning achievement of a student's academic work and a graduation requirement. The goal of the project is for students to demonstrate their ability to make a long-term commitment to a difficult or complex goal and to achieve it. As a classical school, we embrace the three primary stages of learning: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. Grammar is the first stage of learning, the gathering of important data and information. Next students move to the Logic phase, learning how all the parts and data work together. Lastly, students must be able to articulate and express what they’ve learned as a master of the topic -- Rhetoric. These stages easily represent knowledge, understanding, and then wisdom.
The Legacy Academy Capstone project should reflect each student’s journey through the three stages and culminate with a presentation or demonstration on the selected topic.
